Laurence set up Lolo Palazzo following a long-standing desire to design and create industrial lighting and objects through welding in combination with recycled steel. Lolo Palazzo crafts 100% handmade chandeliers, lamps and objects from recycled steel, such as bicycle chains, motor bike parts, perforated metal sheet but also other refuse she found trawling through metal factories, bicycle repair shops and storages throughout the country. At this moment Lolo Palazzo is working on a collection of tables and other objects in line with her ballroom chandelier collection. Classical forms in combination with motorbike chains becoming edgy and elegant pieces of furniture.
In April 2016 Lolo Palazzo will exhibit in Milan in Palazzo Francesco Turati during the Salone di Mobile during the exhibition of Masterly – The Dutch in Milano. In June Lolo Palazzo will exhibit in Budapest in the Museum of Applied Arts during an international design exposition called Bikeology - How Design Transforms Urban Mobility.
